Kameno — meaning “Burnt” in Greek — is a fast-paced, competitive card game created by friends Rafferty Burrowes and Samuel Spark, two competitive Freeride skiers. 
Life as a snowsport athlete means months away from home, hopping between resorts, competitions, and training across Europe and beyond. It was during this lifestyle that Raff and Sam discovered their shared love of Sh!thead — a card game which they played hundreds, possibly thousands, of times across hostels and friends' accommodation.
The idea of turning it into something bigger took shape during a 2024 trip to New Zealand. Holed up in a cottage with no Wi-Fi or phone signal, the pair spent their evenings adapting and perfecting what would become Kameno, named after the Greek word for “Burnt” and carrying the brand tagline: “Burn or be burnt.” 
Card games are an undervalued pastime. They offer a break from the frantic screens and impersonal connections of modern life by creating comfortable social situations that encourage genuine conversation. Did we mention they’re also the best fun?

  • SAMMY

    Sammy is the founder of the game. Alongside his Co-Founder Raff he continues to travel the world following the snow, both dreaming of being a Freeride World Tour skier one day. 

  • BENJI

    Benji is Sammy's younger brother, who juggles Kameno alongside his studies at university. He has a few less screws loose then Sammy but follows his traits of loving skiing and travelling around the world.

    Why Kameno

    Kameno is about bringing people together. We want to create a community of people that want to get off their phones and engage with one another. We are not looking to reverse time, rather offer a better, healthier, and more social alternative to being on your phone. Relationships are built on communication not on your screen.

    Having launched just before Christmas 2025, Kameno's next mission is to earn its place on retailer shelves — and to keep building a community of people who believe that the best moments in life happen around a table, not a screen. In short: we're here to make card games great again.
